This 7.5 hour/day position starts on August 21, 2025.

REPORTS TO: Building Administration
SALARY: As per the collective bargaining agreement with OSEA.
JOB DESCRIPTION: To assist teachers in assessment of academic and behavioral/social skills and in the prescriptive teaching in academic and behavioral/social areas. Provide instruction in small groups or one-on-one in multiple subjects as well as supervision of students in the classroom and non-instructional settings. Other related duties as assigned.
This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement..
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accurate reading, writing, and listening skills.
- Ability to successfully work with moderately-impacted special education students.
- Meet ESSA requirements: two years (72+ quarter credits) college credit or successful completion of Work Keys test exam (or other comparable skills evaluation) prior to hiring.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and adults.
- Must be currently or willing to become first aid/CPR certified.
- Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephones, bells, students, co-workers, etc.; ability to respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to read written material; ability to operate office equipment; the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally (with assistance) up to 100 pounds.
PREFERENCES: - Preference may be given to those who are fluent in Spanish and English.
