About the Department
Input, analyze, and execute reports from the Literacy Education Information System (LEIS). Maintain student records and reporting data for all CCR locations. Serve as the Chief Assessment Examiner overseeing and assuring compliance for the Official Testing Programs as it relates to assessment, security, scheduling, administration, and scoring. Perform research duties such as collecting and extracting demographic data from the LEIS and other data sources for planning and market research purposes.
Position Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for the CCR Data Specialist:
Enter and verify data in the LEIS System as it relates to the reporting requirements for student records, assessment scores, class rosters, attendance, grades, goals, and outcomes.
Enter Adult High School Credits into the LEIS System.
Process Transcript Requests.
Review LEIS data and counsel instructors on current LEIS procedures and data form updates.
Collaborate with System Office personnel to ensure compliance with state and federal performance measures.
Review enrollment reports weekly and perform a bi-weekly analysis of departmental data. Perform documentation audits at least two times each semester at each site location.
Develop and maintain course audit files and verify the receipt of course attendance documentation from instructors weekly and at the end of each semester.
Utilize the state E-Procurement system to order supplies and equipment and submit check request payments.
Verify and oversee the final attendance reporting process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for the HSE Specialist (Chief Examiner):
Complete assessment administration training and certifications.
Submit certification renewals annually to the Director.
Conduct assessment sessions in compliance with state, federal, and vendor policies monthly for each test site; schedule additional test sessions when needed; and transport tests maintaining security.
Maintain and ensure the protection of assessment data and materials at all sites. Inventory and refile tests at the end of each assessment session.
Provide special documentation forms/hold testing sessions for students with disabilities in accordance with the A.D.A. Act of 1990.
Develop and update the assessment plan as needed.
Inform the Director and State HSE Administrator of assessment irregularities. Maintain graduate list for each test site.
Attend monthly meetings scheduled for Assessment Examiners.
Inventory all assessment materials to ensure safe return of assessment materials to the vendor.
Train alternate or proctor with the approval of the CCR Director in all aspects of the job, including testing, data entry and reporting scores.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for the Research Specialist:
Query, retrieve, and summarize data from specialized databases and information systems including the Data Warehouse and Advansys to support the College and Career Readiness Program.
Submit required reports to the NCCCS by the specified due dates.
Collect and extract demographic data from Advansys and other sources for planning and market research purposes.
Maintain knowledge of useful software and electronic processes for data architecture, informational analysis and processing, and improved data management.
Work closely with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness to assure accurate data entry and time sensitive local, state, and national records reporting.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; strong communication skills; ability to work independently; and strong computer and analytical skills. Data entry and analysis experience.
Other Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, computer studies, business administration, or related field plus work experience with the Advansys platform and in an Adult Education program.
