The International Center of Photography (ICP) is the world’s leading institution dedicated to photography and visual culture. Through our exhibitions, education, public programs, and community outreach, we offer an open forum for dialogue about the power of the image. Since our founding in 1974, we have presented more than 700 exhibitions and offered thousands of classes, providing instruction at every level. Our new integrated center on the Lower East Side reunites our school and museum in one space to become the cultural anchor of Essex Crossing.


Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships drives revenue growth and strengthens the International Center of Photography’s (ICP) institutional presence within the corporate sector. This role leads corporate sponsorship, venue rental, and membership initiatives, positioning ICP as a premier cultural partner for companies seeking brand visibility, cultural relevance, and meaningful engagement.


Working closely with teams across exhibitions, education, public programs, and communications, the Associate Director ensures that corporate partnerships are strategically integrated to maximize institutional visibility, mission impact, and sponsor value. Key outcomes include increasing sponsorship revenue by at least 40% over three years through targeted outreach and tailored proposals; securing high-impact sponsorships for marquee events like the Infinity Awards and Spotlights; and building scalable corporate membership programs that enhance participation and retention. The role also oversees the growth of ICP’s rentals program, ensuring consistent year-over-year increases in earned income.


By aligning ICP’s exhibitions, educational initiatives, and distinctive event spaces with corporate marketing, brand, and social impact goals, the Associate Director cultivates multi-year, high-value partnerships that elevate ICP’s profile and deepen its community impact. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, this position plays a critical, cross-functional role in advancing ICP as a dynamic, forward-thinking cultural institution.


Key Responsibilities & Competencies

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure high-value partnerships that support exhibitions, programs, and events, aiming for 40% revenue growth over three years. Requires proven strategic partnership development, persuasive communication skills, and the ability to manage the full sponsorship lifecycle from prospecting to fulfillment.
  • Lead and execute strategies to position ICP’s spaces as premium event venues, ensuring year-over-year earned income growth. Requires business development expertise, targeted marketing strategy, and operational excellence in pricing, contracts, and client service.
  • Redesign membership tiers and benefits, strengthen stewardship, and proactively manage renewals to maximize value. Requires relationship management skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to tailor engagement strategies for corporate audiences.
  • Develop compelling sponsorship packages for signature events, collaborate with leadership to expand corporate relationships, and ensure delivery of benefits. Requires event sponsorship experience, stakeholder communication skills, and performance tracking to demonstrate ROI.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of corporate pipelines in CRM systems, monitor performance metrics, and provide insights to leadership. Requires proficiency in CRM/analytics tools, collaborative mindset, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.


Requirements

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses or Certifications required:

  • Proficiency in CRM and database platforms (e.g., Raiser's Edge, HubSpot), Microsoft Office Suite, and presentation tools.
  • Skilled in contract management, sponsor benefit delivery, and event execution workflows.


Education Qualifications:

  • B.A. degree required; higher degree preferred


Experience Qualifications:

  • 8 years of progressive experience in fundraising, business development, corporate partnerships, or related fields; nonprofit or arts/culture sector experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing budgets, overseeing revenue-generating initiatives, and using CRM systems such as Raiser's Edge.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Range: $90,000–$105,000; salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
