HOUSTON RACQUET CLUB JOB DESCRIPTION Grounds Staff FLSA Status – Non-Exempt I. Job Summary 1. To assist Grounds Foreman with grounds maintenance. 2. Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operations, it may be necessary for each employee to perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. II. Job Tasks (Essential Functions) 1. Maintain 30+ acres of landscape area 2. Mowing and weed control 3. Maintaining and planting seasonal colors and plants 4. Maintain high visibility areas 5. Pick up tennis towels 6. Assist in courts maintenance when needed 7. Empty trash cans 8. Fill court water coolers. 9. Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Grounds Foreman, Assistant Grounds Foreman and/or Director of Courts & Grounds. III. Minimum Requirements 1. Education – High School Diploma or GED preferred, experience is a plus. 2. Language Skills – Verbal English preferred 3. Physical Requirements i. Stand – Three quarters of the time ii. Walk – Three quarters of the time iii. Sit – Quarter of the time iv. Use hands/fingers to handle/feel – Always v. Reach with hands/arms – Always vi. Climb or balance – Quarter of the time vii. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl – Quarter of the time viii. Talk/hear – Always ix. Taste/smell – Quarter of the time x. Weight Lifted/force exerted – up to 80 pounds. 4. Visual Requirements – Must be able to see 5. Work Environment i. Wet or humid conditions – Occasionally – weather ii. Work near moving mechanical parts – Half of the time iii. Work in high precarious places – Rarely iv. Fumes or airborne particles – Rarely v. Toxic or caustic chemicals – Rarely vi. Outdoor weather conditions – Always vii. Risk of electrical shock – Rarely IV. Reports to 1. Director of Courts & Grounds 2. Grounds Foreman 3. Assistant Grounds Foreman V. Supervises 1. No supervisory duties are included in this position.
