About the Role
Tronox is recruiting for a Production Operator to join our team based at our Chandala Mineral Separation Plant located near Muchea in the scenic countryside, approximately 60 km north of the Perth CBD.
Our Northern Operation sites are ideally positioned for those living in the councils of Chittering, Swan, Joondalup, or Wanneroo.
This is a 12 month Max Term Contract, working 4 Days On/ 4 Days Off/ 4 Nights On/ 4 Days Off. All shifts are 12 hours.
A Production Shift Operator is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation of manufacturing processes during a specific shift. They ensure that production runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently while meeting quality standards and production targets
Role responsibilities include:
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, conduct safety inspections, and reporting of hazards and safety incidents.
Monitor & control plant processes and equipment. Maintaining optimal operation and adherence to standard procedures.
Operate & troubleshoot equipment including; pumps, valves, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with production supervisors to prioritize production schedules and optimize output.
Maintain accurate records of production activities throughout your shift and communicate those activities to the incoming crew at hand over.
Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
To be successful in this position, you will:
Technical Aptitude: Previous experience in operating, maintaining and monitoring process equipment (experience with control systems advantageous)
Mechanical Skills: Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment for routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
Problem-solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying and resolving process issues, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and implementing corrective actions.
Safety Consciousness: Understand your duty of care regarding your health and safety obligations. Competent in the usage of JHAs, Step Back 2x2 / Take 5s, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (task instructions), to ensure product quality and correct usage of equipment.
Teamwork and Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Self-Progression: Have capacity and desire to participate in ongoing training, developing skills and experience
Ability to work nightshift
