$2,341.60 to $2,575.76 biweekly.  Actual salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.  Viera/Government Center.  Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   Performs skilled professional work supervising the activities of personnel within the Contractor & Code Compliance Program, which includes the enforcement of codes and ordinances related to unlicensed contractors, permitting, zoning, solid waste, housing, vehicle abatement, marine turtle lighting, adult entertainment, blight, health and safety, and property maintenance and the prosecution of cases through a Special Magistrate process.  Supervision is given to technical and clerical staff. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban/Regional Planning, Criminal Justice, Allied Legal Services, Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field PLUS three (3) years of experience in the investigation and enforcement of codes, laws, or regulations OR three (3) years of experience as a Brevard County Code Enforcement Officer.  Additional qualifying education and/or experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted on a year for year basis.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment.  Florida Association of Code Enforcement (FACE) Level 1: Fundamentals of Code Enforcement certification is preferred.
