Our Team
Within Technology & Operations, the Operations team ensure all UKTVs disparate business areas work in harmony to deliver content to our linear and non-linear platforms within the set timelines. They have a wide range of responsibilities from presentation scheduling to cloud media operations. They take ownership and seek out improvements and savings to run a highly efficient process.
The Technology team are responsible for delivering transformative changes across UKTV & BBC Studios. They consist of a cross functional team including individual Product teams, Business Analysts, Project Managers and Software Developers, based mainly in London. As well as delivering change on time and within budget, the team also enables the business to prioritise the technical, commercial and operational work key for UKTV and the wider BBC Studios. Working with teams across the BBC Studios group they help to deliver on the group and company strategy.
Both teams are delivery focused but fun to work with and have great relationships with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers.
Purpose of the role
The Programme Manager – Technology & Operations - is responsible for planning, proactively monitoring progress and resolving issues to deliver of strategic projects related to the UKTV media supply chain and channel management, also individual commercial projects. The role will work closely with other teams such as Digital (responsible for the DtoC ‘U’ apps), Finance and Procurement.
The role will also be responsible for direct line management and development of a team of individual UKTV Project Managers and business analysts within the department. In addition, it’s also possible that the role will provide effective work delivery management (via dotted line) of some BBC Studios roles directly related to the Media Supply Chain and Channels area, from time to time
