Role Purpose
The TOS Administrator is responsible for the company’s Terminal Operating System (TOS) applications, functional business processes and user access governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system administration functions for all TOS components and subsystems, including technical or functional applications configurations and customizations to meet needs and objectives of the organization.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain all TOS applications and subsystems, including interfaces with dependent systems.
- Maintain data quality and integrity for all TOS components and subsystems.
- Identify potential uses for TOS data, and recommend and develop solutions to distribute information.
- Provide tier 1 technical support training and documentation for the HelpDesk team and provide tier 2 technical and functional support for all TOS components and subsystems.
- Maintain up to date standardized documentation for administration and use of TOS
- Develop and maintain TOS disaster recovery plan to meet organizational requirements, including periodic demonstration and testing of the plan.
- Ability to work on-call as needed
Knowledge & Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ combined experience working in a Container Terminal Environment and supporting a Container Terminal Operating System, or minimum 4 years of experience administering a Container Terminal Operating System.
- Experience working in an industrial environment is an asset.
- Working knowledge of container terminal operations and standards, and operating systems, databases, Active Directory, and networking principles.
- Must be able to methodically identify and resolve problems across distributed software systems.
- Must have understanding of IT security principles and controls.
- Strong team orientation and ability to contribute to realization of team goals and customer satisfaction.
- Must be motivated with excellent customer service and written communication skills, this includes producing and maintaining technical documents.
- Must have demonstrated ability to communicate to broad audience with technical and operational backgrounds.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to complete activities within time constraints.
- Ability to respond to critical TOS issues and failures on a 24/7 basis
- Fluent in English.
- Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
