Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE:
Position, mount, and proof photopolymer plates for flexographic printing press operations to ensure quality of production. Locate, review and initiate replacement tooling as needed to ensure materials are available for mounting of all printed jobs scheduled in the Press Department. Organize and re-file all art, plate and supporting material at the end of every press run.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Check work orders, obtain proper cylinders and plates, and prepare plates for mounting to ensure quality product.
- Mount photopolymer plates to press cylinders in order to minimize press downtime.
- Roll out plates and proof for correctness to ensure proper registration of plates.
- Reposition/build-up plates in the presses in order to reduce downtime and produce quality product.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean work environment.
- Assist in press room with press trainee duties as needed.
- Maintain the art files access database for accurate tracking and accountability of all art files within the plant.
- Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed
Qualifications
- Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to perform detailed work- precision is a must.
- Effective communication skills: individual, group, team facilitation, written.
- Ability to understand and respond to work orders.
- Familiarity with flexographic printing equipment a plus.
