The Instrument/Mechanical Field Service Technician focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining instrument air dryer systems (desiccant and refrigerated) in industrial environments, including plants, refineries, and papermills. In addition to servicing air dryers, you will disassemble, assemble, and test control valves per manufacturers' specifications. This position combines mechanical and electrical expertise, fieldwork, and customer support to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.

How you'll make and impact:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems of instrument air dryers in plant, refinery, and papermill settings.
  • Disassemble, assemble, inspect, and test control valves following manufacturers' specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on air dryers, control valves, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for equipment assembly, repair, and reassembly.
  • Diagnose issues with control systems, actuators, and instrumentation related to air dryer and valve operations.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring safe and efficient equipment use.
  • Maintain detailed records of service activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment meets operational requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites within the assigned region for routine and emergency service needs.

Skills you'll need:

  • 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and servicing instrument air dryers, control valves, or similar equipment in industrial settings.
  • Experience in plant, refinery, or papermill environments is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including actuators, compressors, and valves.
  • Familiarity with diagnosing electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and control panels.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, loud, etc.).
  • Standing for extended periods and performing manual labor as needed.
