The JR Mechanic assists senior technicians with light duty maintenance jobs, such as oil changes, brake pad replacements, and tune-ups, as well as providing support during more complicated repairs. The entry level role is ideal for individuals beginning their career in automotive repair. We offer hands-on experience with certified mechanics. This role will also involve running errands and occasional offsite travel.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct basic maintenance on fleet vehicles (oil changes, tire rotation, brake service)
- Assist senior mechanics with major repair projects
- Log inventory and maintain accurate records of repairs and services
- Detail and clean vehicles
- Keep tools, equipment, and the shop area clean and organized
- Run errands such as picking up parts or delivering vehicles
- Travel to offsite locations when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older (insurance requirement)
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Must have the ability to pass pre-employment background including MVR check, criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen. Drug testing follows federal laws.
- Completion or enrolled in an auto repair program (preferred)
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Familiarity with both gasoline and diesel equipment
- Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
- Must have the tools that are required for this position
