Job Summary:
BB&N is seeking qualified Middle School substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 academic year to provide coverage for expected and unexpected faculty absences. Primary responsibilities include teaching 7 & 8 grade students and coverage in a range of subject areas, providing a consistent and optimal learning environment by following the lesson plans. Additional responsibilities include covering duties and supervision outside the classroom as needed.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate should have 1-3 years of teaching experience at the middle school level, an understanding of cognitive and social development for children at this age, and a knowledge of instruction. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
In addition, the candidate should demonstrate:
Joy working with middle school-aged students, and an understanding of child development for this age group
Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
Appropriate communication skills
Knowledge and commitment around diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and the impact it has on the classroom climate and curriculum
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with students and families
Ability to receive feedback
Excellent writing skills
Compensation: $50 per block / prorated for an hourly rate as applicable.
