The Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Administrative Specialist I to support the Compliance & Innovation Manager in the Compliance, Performance, and Innovation Division (CPID). This role is ideal for a self-starter with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
ADDITIONAL WORK PERFORMED:Performs related work of a similar nature or level, at various locations as assigned.
Position Duties
- Assists with scheduling meetings, training, and briefings for the Compliance & Innovation (C&I) team
- Supports the ADA Coordinator and Compliance and Innovation Associate with various tasks such as record keeping, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Prepares drafts of proposals, RFPs, MOUs, internal and external surveys, and other official documents for review by the C & I Manager
- Maintains data integrity by inputting and updating information in various tracking systems
- Monitors progress of contracts and procurement documents; provides status updates to C & I Manager
- Supports recruitment efforts by formatting and proofing job descriptions and interview materials for the C & I Manager
- Provides onboarding support for new staff members
- Serves as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses
- Communicates departmental policies and procedures effectively to staff
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in human resource management, Finance, Business, or any related field.
2. One (1) year of experience in human resource management, finance, or any other related area of business administration.
3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total 5 years.

•Demonstrated experience in project management and administrative support.
•Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•High attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks.
•Commitment to providing excellent internal and external customer service.
•Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve operational issues.
•Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.
