Description

  We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PET/CT Technologist to join our imaging team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) procedures to support diagnostic, treatment planning, and research needs. You will work collaboratively with radiologists, referring clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety, diagnostic accuracy, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform PET/CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols.

· Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and effectively while maintaining compliance with radiation safety.

· Monitor patients for adverse reactions to radiotracers and contrast agents; respond promptly to any medical emergencies.

· Accurately capture, process, and archive high-quality imaging data for interpretation.

· Operate and troubleshoot PET/CT equipment and coordinate scheduled maintenance with vendors.

· Maintain inventory and ensure proper handling, disposal, and ordering of radiopharmaceuticals and related supplies.

· Participate in continuous quality improvement, accreditation, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Certification

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or related field.

· Current certification by ARRT (CT) and/or NMTCB (PET).

· Current South Carolina State licensure.

Experience

· Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a clinical PET/CT environment preferred.

· Experience with oncology, radiation oncology, and PET/CT studies is advantageous.

Skills

· Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, radiopharmaceutical pharmacokinetics, and imaging protocols.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse patient populations and clinical teams.

· Ability to remain calm and responsive under pressure or during emergency situations.

· Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), radiology information systems (RIS), and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of patients and equipment.

· Exposure to low-level ionizing radiation and hazardous materials in compliance with safety protocols.

· Rotating shifts, weekend, or on-call hours may be required depending on department needs.
