Compensation Range:

$24.91 - $34.87

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Prevention Training Specialist will work on the Network Health Prevention Program team, Department of Psychiatry, University of Rochester School of Medicine. This 0.40 (40% time) position will be located at Sheppard Air Force Base Technical Training School 82nd Training Wing, Wichita Falls, Texas.

This position will include delivering mental health promotion programming to adults at USAF bases and contributing to human subjects research evaluating this programming. The programming uses an interactive training style that emphasizes how participants grow protective strengths and build a strong network. Trainings are provided in-person and online. This work will require the Prevention Trainer to learn and implement the program with fidelity, create collaborative relationships with the USAF bases and its training squadrons and staff, and to maintain organization of all necessary details and processes of the trainings. The program also requires evaluation to determine benefits to participants, and related data acquisition. This Specialist will enroll participants, administer standardized research measures, maintain research records and establish workflows for enrollment and training with USAF base staff. Once fully onboarded the Prevention Trainer will often work independently while implementing trainings and completing research-related tasks, while also maintaining positive collaboration, communication, and accountability with all team members.

This position will be based at Sheppard Air Force Base, where 3,000 early career personnel will be enrolled and trained over a 4-year project period. The work of the Prevention Training Specialist may also require travel to other USAF bases in this region and will include times of travel to implement the prevention program. Travel may include multiple days of travel to other bases (driving and/or flight) in Texas and other, including overnight stays. All travel costs are reimbursed per University of Rochester travel and reimbursement policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Advise USAF base organization and participants through program requirements, developing relationships with key personnel.
  • Prepare and support participants in working with prevention activities.
  • Independently train/implement mental health promotion program at multiple USAF bases.
  • Enrolls subjects for research, administers standardized measures, and documents completion of research protocols and research activities.
  • Transact participant payments, track budgets, and reimburse program expenses.
  • Make recommendations to principal investigators for new approaches for extending trainings for military organization leadership, instructors and adult learners.
  • Provide training, coaching, and assessments for staff involved in supporting the delivery of prevention programs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years’ experience in human subject research coordination Required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Word processing and data analysis software Required
  • Military experience is highly desirable


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Analysis and dissemination of information plus supervisory experience Preferred


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • SOCRA - Certification In Clinical Research upon hire preferred
  • Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) upon hire preferred
