SMCC is seeking adjunct faculty in our Behavioral Health, Human Service, & Social Work Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Southern Maine Community College is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor to teach Psychosocial Rehabilitation during the Fall 2025 semester. This course introduces students to the core philosophy, principles, and practices of psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) as a foundation for recovery-oriented behavioral health care. Topics include recovery models, community inclusion, evidence-based interventions, peer support, supported employment, and the lived experience of mental illness.
DELIVERY:
Online asynchronous via Brightspace. No scheduled class meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- At least five years of professional experience in mental health or psychiatric rehabilitation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with recovery-oriented practices, integrated care, and supported employment
- Understanding of behavioral health systems in Maine
- College-level teaching experience, particularly in online settings
