RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Museum Operations
- Ensure all employees are properly trained and all areas are staffed at the approved staffing levels for high customer service.
- Assist in the development of new workshops, demonstrations, and labs.
- Assist in scheduling museum programs to meet or exceed guest expectations while remaining within set labor dollars.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of specialty programs.
- Assist in the organization and operation of daily groups and “Ultimate Field Trips.”
- Organization and Staffing
- Formally and regularly communicate with staff all relevant and appropriate operational and corporate information.
- Ensure that safety standards are understood, enforced, and followed by all staff.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Museum Manager and Director of Museum Operations for employee selection, hiring, orientation and affiliation, evaluation, and discipline.
- Ensure that staff is instructed and informed of Center and departmental policies and procedures and follows set policies and procedures.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Museum Manager and the Director of Museum Operations for the accurate and timely completion of related tasks and assignments.
- Museum Exhibits and Quality Assurance
- Ensure that exhibits are always functional and operational and provide appropriate communication to necessary departments to repair exhibits for our guests' enjoyment.
- Ensure through constant museum walk-throughs that all staff are engaging customers and staffed appropriately for maximum guest experience.
- Simulator Operations
- Meet or exceed Rocket Center professional and safety standards for the safe, effective, and efficient operation of all museum simulators (rocket park and indoor museum)
- Perform safety checks, and complete required checklists proper to opening simulators to ensure correct and safe operation.
- Report any simulator problems or malfunctions to the Simulation Technical staff promptly.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Museum Operations Manager for providing guests and trainees with a quality and sage simulator experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment for guests, trainees, and employees.
- Ticketing Operations
- Understand all the intricacies and nuances of TAM, the ticketing software used throughout the museum.
- Deliver high-quality customer service.
- Respond to and resolve guest questions and complaints promptly and in a manner that reflects the Mission and Spirit of the Rocket Center.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
BS Degree in Business, Communication, Marketing-PR, Education, or closely related field required. Required Experience
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years closely related work experience in a similar guest relations environment with 2 years at the managerial/supervisory level OR an equivalent combination of experience and education in a similar environment.

- Must have excellent and proven leadership skills, developed, and conducted training programs.

- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with guests and employees.
- Must be able to use a 101 keyboard.
- Must know DOS and Windows-based operating systems, and have some knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Must be able to use word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Physical Requirements
- Walking, climbing (stairs) to/from other buildings to access other departments and to oversee, observe, and interact with guests and employees.
- Standing to address guest issues or assist staff in assigned areas.
- Sitting for long periods (4-6 hours).
- Carrying, and lifting items and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds to shoulder height.
- Bending, kneeling, and reaching to operate simulators and retrieve supplies.
- Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to operate computer terminal, cash register, etc.
- Talking, and hearing to instruct employees and assist guests in person and over the telephone.
- This position deals extensively with the public and employees throughout the organization.

Environmental Factors
- This position involves working in both a climate-controlled office environment and outside where exposed to various weather conditions and changing temperatures.
