Title: Volunteer Programs Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Auxiliary Programs

Status:  Part-time/hourly  (20 hours per week) 11-month position 

Qualifications: The candidate must possess excellent communication skills, and have an ability to maintain a good working relationship with others. Candidate must have strong organizational and time management discipline with solid judgment and understanding of confidentiality.

Job Description: The Volunteer Program Coordinator will recruit, organize, and manage volunteer programs, including concession stand staffing.  The Volunteer Programs Coordinator will create and identify how students, parents, and community members can become more involved at Mount Paran Christian School as volunteers.

In addition to understanding the importance of working as a team, managing employees, the Volunteer Programs Coordinator must be self- motivated and independent minded in order to complete the projects and initiatives assigned. 


Requirements

  

Lifting and transporting boxes not exceeding 20 pounds; ability to stand or sit for long periods of time; excellent hearing and communication abilities.  

Responsibilities: The Volunteer Programs Coordinator is responsible for the following:

· Accepting the work at Mount Paran Christian School as a personal calling and identify themselves as ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ

· Identifying, developing, and implementing creative volunteer recruitment strategies and methods to attract and retain a sufficient pool of volunteers 

· Collaboration with Parent Led Organizations and school administration on school-wide strategic initiatives

· Attend and support parent volunteer organization calendar and budget meetings

· Assist with the development, coordination and record-keeping of all volunteers at home athletic events and school-wide events;  

· Assist with developing and facilitating high school student volunteer programs

· Collaboration with the Director of Human Resources to ensure all volunteers have a completed and clear background check   

· Partner with Director of Marketing and Communications to identify the marketing needs of all volunteer groups

· Assist with developing programs and events to recognize and celebrate core volunteers 

· Assist with developing and facilitating new volunteer orientation as needed

· Evaluate, communicate, and update the MPCS volunteer handbook and safety protocols as needed

· Inventory and facilitating the delivery of concession stand items (or other items) for athletic home games and other school events;

· Showing support and high esteem for MPCS

· Complying with conditions as stated in employee contract and handbook

· Modeling appropriate Christian behavior in speech and actions; and,

· Any other duties as assigned.
