Hybrid Instructional Aide en Oakland Schools

The chosen candidate will be an EduStaff employee and will need to complete the Edustaff Process

Summary:

Assist the General Education Teacher by providing learning support to individual students and small groups of children.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with students to help them achieve the reading skill level of the class as a whole.
• Administers, scores, and records such achievement and diagnostic tests as the teacher recommends for individual students.
• Assistis in producing and organizing the learning environment, equipment and materials.
• Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by teacher. 
• Assists with supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Reads to students, listens to students read and participates in other forms of oral communication with students. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Some reading/writing and language college classes preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to staff and students
• Willingness to learn developmentally appropriate educating practices
• Assist in producing and organizing the learning environment, equipment and materials
• Provide individual or small group student support
• Ability to walk long distances
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to take written and oral instructions

Reports To:       Building Principal

Salary / Work Schedule: 

• Monday - Friday
• 7:45 am - 3:45 pm
• $17.00 Per Hour while working Lunch and Recess
• $16.50 Per Hour While working Instructional Aide
