JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: Production Supervisor Department: Manufacturing
Plant/Division: Buffalo Air Handling Division of Air & Liquid Systems Corporation
FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt (straight time overtime)
Reports to: Vice President, Manufacturing
JOB SUMMARY
Oversees production operations in an industrial plant; monitor employees and organizing workflows, able to function in a fast-paced environment and optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs with the goal of ensuring production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and strictly enforce safety guidelines for all activities and equipment within assigned departments.
- Oversee, train, coach and discipline employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all employees.
- Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives, communicate them to employees and develop action / process plans to achieve these objectives.
- Develop, monitor and report on hourly and daily metrics for each key metric within assigned departments.
- Check production output according to specifications.
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
- Work with all company departments to ensure that customer expectations are met (internal and external).
- Keep direct supervisor informed on all issues within assigned departments.
Requirements
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (ALL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES ARE REQUIRED UNLESS NOTED AS” PREFERRED”)
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Project.
- Strong organizational skills; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to clearly communicate both oral and written instructions.
- Able to interact professionally at all levels with other departments of the organization.
- Ability to work cooperatively in project/process teams.
- Be self-motivated with a results driven approach and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE (ALL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE BULLETS ARE REQUIRED UNLESS NOTED AS “PREFERRED”)
- Preferred - two-year degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field. Four-year technical degree will be a plus.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience working with and implementing lean principles with measurable results.
- Preferred - 7 to 10 years’ experience as a front-line supervisor.
- Familiar with ASME welding and brazing
