CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Process Simulation Engineer II.

Location: Corning, NY
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: MS or Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline

 

Description
The Process Simulation Engineer II will provide model-based analytical support to solve real-world problems in production environments. This role will be responsible for collecting process inputs, conducting detailed simulations, and applying rigorous scientific knowledge to enhance process understanding. The engineer will collaborate closely with process engineering teams to validate and refine models, interpret results, and provide actionable recommendations.

 

Requirements
• Provide model-based analytical support to solve production issues
• Collect process inputs and experimental observations to define problems and deliverables
• Apply scientific principles related to flow, mass/heat transfer, electric/magnetic fields, and chemical reactions to build detailed technical understanding
• Determine the technical approach and select appropriate modeling tools for solving complex numerical problems
• Collaborate with process engineers for model validation and enhancement
• Communicate findings and recommendations to process teams
• Prepare technical reports and documentation

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education
• MS or Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline

 

Qualifications
• Strong fundamentals in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, fluid dynamics, and mass/heat transfer
• Experience with modeling software packages (ANSYS/Fluent, COMSOL, or similar) or open-source codes
• Knowledge of numerical modeling and methods
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously

 

Desired Skills and Experience
• 2+ years of work experience in relevant fields
• Knowledge of plasma processes and statistical mechanics
• Experience in data analysis and interpretation
• Code development using Python or MATLAB
• Background in process and product engineering

 

Soft Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer-oriented mindset with strong commitment to results
• Ability to build relationships within cross-functional teams
• Ability to influence technical decisions effectively
