Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-floor leadership presence across all production areas, including Ludwig, Musser, and Timpani.
- Supervise operations in materials handling, shipping, and receiving to ensure adherence to plans and expectations.
- Ensure all employees are actively engaged, productive, and meeting performance standards throughout each shift.
- Monitor and support the execution of production schedules and operational plans as directed by the Manufacturing Manager.
- Reinforce accountability, quality, and safety standards throughout the shop floor.
- Act as the primary point of contact for floor-level issues, escalating concerns or disruptions to management as needed.
- Provide real-time feedback and reporting on shop floor performance and progress.
- Maintain a continuous, visible presence across all operational departments to ensure employees are working efficiently and in accordance with expectations.
- Observe and confirm that scheduled production tasks are being executed properly and on time.
- Identify employees who are disengaged, off-task, or underperforming, and address issues promptly.
- Communicate daily with the Manufacturing Manager to provide updates, raise concerns, and report performance gaps.
- Verify that workflows are uninterrupted by material shortages, staffing gaps, or equipment issues; report or assist in resolution when possible.
- Support training initiatives on the floor by observing skill gaps and communicating needs to management.
- Reinforce safe work practices and correct any safety violations in real time.
- Conduct walk-throughs and spot checks for quality, adherence to process, and efficiency.
- Supervise shipping and receiving teams to confirm inbound and outbound activity is ongoing efficiently.
- Monitor labor and material flow to ensure correct and timely recording of transactions.
- Support company standards for professionalism, attendance, and employee conduct, bringing violations to the attention of HR or leadership when necessary.
- Foster a floor culture of accountability, communication, and pride in workmanship.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Five to seven years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with three to five years of supervisory experience.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, strong problem solving/analytical competency.
- A “can do”, positive, results driven attitude and expectation from all team members.
- Required to talk, hear, travel around the plant, frequently required to lift and/or move up in excess of 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- May occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection is required.
