As a Test Engineer Intern, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our advanced systems, working primarily at our Eagle Mountain, UT test site.

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated college student to join our Test Engineering team as a part-time intern. This role involves 90% field work at our Eagle Mountain test location, with occasional work at our Lindon headquarters. The ideal candidate is a team player, professional, comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, and passionate about contributing to Fortem’s mission of advancing airspace security. This internship offers hands-on experience with drone technology, radar systems, and testing processes, providing valuable skills for a career in engineering.

Essential Responsibilities 

• Assist the Test Engineering team with testing projects and tasks.
• Learn to pilot drones and serve as a Target Pilot and Safety Pilot after training. 
• Analyze test failures, identify and document bugs, and track resolutions. 
• Perform thorough regression testing to validate bug fixes. 
• Prepare clear and detailed internal test documentation. 
• Communicate test results effectively with engineering teams. 
• Uphold high safety standards during all testing activities. 
• Support additional tasks to ensure the success of Fortem Technologies.

Preferred Skills 

• Interest in drone technology, radar systems, or airspace security. 
• Basic familiarity with testing processes or electronic systems is a plus but not required.

Work Environment 

• Location: 90% of work at the Eagle Mountain, UT test site; 10% at Fortem’s Lindon, UT headquarters. 
• Schedule: Part-time, flexible to accommodate a college student’s schedule. 
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle electronic equipment.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• Current enrollment in a college program, preferably in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related field. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to perform fieldwork with electronic equipment in all weather conditions. 
• Valid driver’s license for travel to the Eagle Mountain test site. 
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively in a team environment. 
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
