KUBRA is seeking an experienced Manager, Product Engineering to join our growing team!
In this strategic and hands-on leadership role, you will guide a team of cross-functional engineers in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our product portfolio. You’ll work closely with the Product Manager to ensure engineering efforts align with KUBRA’s business goals, driving innovation, efficiency, and quality throughout the product development lifecycle.

Plan, balance, and execute sprints containing bug fixes, feature requests, and new product development
Help maintain product roadmaps for the team’s portfolio of products along with the Product Manager
Develop a strong understanding of the products in the engineering team’s portfolio and be able to act a resource for questions about all aspects of those products
Ensure that any necessary documentation is written and maintained by the engineering team
Hire, train, coach, mentor, and develop staff, including conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action with the assistance of Human Resources when necessary
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by following the broader industry, attending management-focused training sessions and educational workshops
Create and maintain a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization with an emphasis on the KUBRA mission, vision, guiding principles, and values
Maintain and enforce quality and service standards, analyze and resolve issues, identify trends, and recommend improvements
Manage a number of products and tasks using a variety of technologies
Participate in on-call rotations in accordance with team requirements
•Lead the team in achieving strategic goals and departmental objectives while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
•Foster an environment that emphasizes trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
Contribute to roadmap development, execution, and releases
Contribute to the code and architecture of a highly concurrent, high-throughput system on the AWS cloud
Work with other engineering teams via “Guilds” of functional skill sets (Back-End,
Front-End, Security, QA, Agile) to develop departmental standards for those functions.
Achieve staff results by clearly communicating job expectations, coaching, counseling, mentoring, and even disciplining employees if they fail to meet clearly communicated expectations and productivity goals.
What kind of person should you be?
Proficiency in Javascript, Java, or .NET technologies, or a testing automation language is required; proficiency in React, Spring, or Cypress/ Selenium is preferred
Familiarity with Linux-based systems
Proficiency in Cloud-based architectures
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes and Docker
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and an ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in all communications
Leadership and management skills – the ability to attract, retain, motivate, mentor, and develop team members to perform to their highest potential
Project management skills – the ability to plan and manage successful projects; including managing risks, costs, time, and roadmaps
Excellent organization, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to handle pressure and focus on results
What skills do you need?
8-10 years of experience in Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, Cloud Infrastructure, or DevOps roles
1-2 years of leadership experience managing teams or leading complex projects, with a strong understanding of Agile practices.
Experience with Cloud Services is required (AWS, GCP, Azure, PCF, etc.) experience with Amazon AWS cloud services (EC2, RDS, S3, SQS…) is preferred
