Stephens College invites applicants for the position of Counselor/Clinic Supervisor at the Stephens College Counseling Center (SCCC). The SCCC is Stephens College’s campus counseling center and serves both undergraduate and graduate student populations through face-to-face and telehealth services. The SCCC also serves as the dedicated fieldwork placement site for the graduate program in Counseling at Stephens College. This is a permanent, part-time (25 hours/week), nine-month position.


Major/Essential Job Duties:

  • As lead clinician at SCCC, provide individual and/or group counseling services to Stephens College students.
  • Maintain all required documentation of client services.
  • Coordinate client scheduling, including initial scheduled sessions for practicum and internship students.
  • Coordinate with Dean of Women’s College regarding SCCC administrative/clinical issues and/or needs.
  • Maintain accurate, ongoing data on key service provision areas, including those provided by practicum/ internship students.
  • Serve as fieldwork site supervisor for Stephens College Counseling Program practicum/internship students placed at SCCC as their fieldwork site.
  • Consult with director of Stephens College Counseling program regarding issues related to SCCC as fieldwork placement site/site supervisor and all other issues relevant to the program/program students.
  • Consult with Stephens College faculty and staff regarding mental health care of Stephens College students, including any coordination of client care with the Office of Safety & Security.
  • Consult with Office of Information Technology regarding technology needs and services of the SCCC.
  • Completion of minimum of 2 hours of continuing education in clinical supervision during the contracted period and attendance at Stephens College Counseling Program’s site supervisor training/orientation.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent (i.e., Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in the State of Missouri.
  • Minimum of 3 years of verified counseling experience as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) or professional equivalent.
  • Experience, willingness, and ability to serve as a professional mentor and fieldwork site supervisor to graduate students in the Stephens College Counseling Program’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Counseling experience in higher education settings.
  • Prior experience serving as a clinical supervisor to graduate level practicum/internship Counseling program students or provisionally licensed counselors.
  • State endorsement (i.e., licensure/certification) in supervision or other verified formal supervision training.
