Description


The Manager of Risk Management and Water Hauling supports Treeline’s health and risk management program. This person, under the guidance and direction of the Director of Risk Management , collaborates with field, operations personnel, and team members to actively minimize risk and provide safe working conditions for all team members. The Manager of Risk Management and Water Hauling also collaborates with Human Resources on Class A and B CDL driver recruitment, orientation, and training. This person dispatches the Water Tanker Fleet.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain personal safety and watch out for the safety of others.
  • Comply with all OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Communicate with team members, contractors, business affiliates, insurance companies, customers, etc. in a positive and collaborative manner. 
  • Communicate both effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, on the telephone, through email, and via two-way radio.
  • Consistently maintain a positive and problem-solving attitude.  
  • Understand and adhere to Treeline’s employment handbook.
  • Ensure job descriptions and job safety analyses are appropriate and current. 
  • Perform incident investigations to determine root causes. 
  • Complete incident reports and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Be the primary contact person to receive property damage reports, perform accident investigations, keep all documentation of event, communicate with Treeline’s insurance company, and follow-up as needed to avoid repeat events. 
  • Perform facility and jobsite inspections to ensure safety performance and compliance. 
  • Work to attain and maintain SHARP certification. 
  • Generate routine off highway fuel consumption reports
  • Collaborate with managers/supervisors to assist with hazard and risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain, update, and implement current and additional safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with, and provide support to, all department managers and team members to help attain and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Attend Forest Product Group Trust, Professional Logging Contractors of Northeast, Acadia Insurance, and other related safety meetings and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Lead monthly safety team meetings within Treeline. 
  • Lead in-house safety trainings.
  • Receive all property damage reports, perform investigations utilizing available technology (e.g., Safety Reporting App), communicate with our insurance company, and follow-up as needed to avoid repeats. 
  • Assist in orientation of new recruits regarding Treeline’s health and risk management policies and practices. 
  • Conduct routine safety observations
  • Manage on-board camera and Telematics systems
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, maintain driver compliance regarding valid licensure, violations, DOT physicals, annual MVR and Clearing House checks and other related duties.
  • Provide daily dispatch assignments for the Water Tanker Fleet
  • Assist the Director with managing the Water Tanker Fleet drivers.
  • Assist Director of Risk Management and HR establishing a Safe Driving Rewards Program
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay commensurate with experience.

  • Associate's degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience.
  •  Minimum of 5 years professional safety experience. 
  • Previous commercial transportation dispatching experience preferred.
