Overview:

We are seeking a Centralized Scheduler, also referred to as a Hospital Admitting Clerk or Admitting Scheduler, in our Admitting/Registration Department. As a Centralized Scheduler, you routinely schedule tests/procedures for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. This may include coordinating patient appointments, admissions, and registration processes to ensure efficient and accurate access to care. 

Shift’s Available:  Days  

Employment Type: Full Time 

Hours: 8-hour shift – 8:00-am to 5:00 pm M_Thursday, Friday 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Location: Dallas Medical Physicians Group, Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities:

The centralized scheduler is directly accountable to the Admitting Leadership the Centralized Scheduler routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. This may include, but is not limited to; Clinic visits, Surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur. Coordinates with departments as necessary. Ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable. Notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries. Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)

2. Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements

3. 1-2 year previous experience in a hospital environment preferred

4. Knowledge of medical terminology

5. Effective written and verbal communication skills

6. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines

7. Analytical and problem-solving skills

8. Customer Services experience required

9. Strong clerical and computer skills.
