Description
Ryan Lawn & Tree is seeking a skilled and motivated Supervisor to lead our team of mechanics in Kansas City.. The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to leverage data-driven metrics to manage daily operations, ensuring KPIs for safety, efficiency, and reliability are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics and technicians.
- Schedule and assign daily tasks and repair work orders.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and safety protocols are met.
- Troubleshoot and assist with complex mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inventory, and employee performance.
- Monitor equipment performance and schedule preventative maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA/DOT and company safety policies.
- Train and mentor team members to improve skills and productivity.
- Communicate with other departments to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repair.
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in record-keeping and maintenance software (e.g., CMMS).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in [industry-specific equipment—e.g., Automotive repair, diesel engines, small engines, hydraulics, industrial machinery].
- Familiarity with safety audits and compliance documentation.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
