Summary

  The Regional Level III will be responsible for supporting the implementation and oversight of PROtect’s Quality Program. They will be responsible for assisting the Corporate Quality Manager with duties such as administering certification exams, conducting operator qualification performance verifications, developing and reviewing procedures as needs arise, conducting training programs and assisting in overseeing the overall quality of NDT operations. They will also be responsible for conducting field audits and reporting findings, issuing corrective actions and nonconformance reports as conditions arise and helping develop ideas and practices for continuous quality improvement to implement in NDT Operations.
 

Essential Functions

Perform regular internal and external audits of NDT operations, including support for safety and radiation safety audits.

Responsible for administering exams for certifications of PROtect personnel.

Conduct performance verifications and assist with operator qualification program and records.

Assist Corporate Quality Manager in developing, maintaining, and reviewing procedures.

Review nondestructive testing specifications accompanying customer orders or inquiries and assists in the review of specifications.
 

Other Functions

Provide oversight and guidance to NDT personnel in the field to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Generate and follow up with corrective action and non-conformance reports.

Support and deliver classroom and practical training programs; contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training curriculum.

Working with customers and operations regarding technical questions relating to NDT

Support NDT operations by providing specific training and troubleshooting as required

Assist in creating and maintaining practical specimens

Research and Development of NDT techniques/methods for specific applications
 

Requirements

Education / Certification

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Associates degree in NDT is preferred

• ASNT Level III certification in multiple methods (RT, MT, PT, VT) preferred, other methods a plus.

• Strong understanding of RT, MT, PT, and VT techniques and theory.

• CR/DR training and experience preferred
 

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum 7 years of NDT experience is preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience as a certified ASNT NDT Level III preferred.

• Proficiency in RT, MT, and PT techniques and principles.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication, and welding processes, and typical discontinuities associated with each. 

• Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and specifications.

• Unbiased approach to certification of candidates

• Attention to detail and strong organization skills
 
 

Skills/Abilities

• Willing and able to travel regionally up to 35% of the time, including occasional overnight trips that may last a week or longer.

• Strong writing, strategic, and verbal communication skills

• Ability to interpret and communicate code and specification requirements

• Demonstrated experience in providing guidance, assistance and expertise to others in the form of training, coaching, and facilitating the audit process

• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions

• Ability to work independently of others and be self-directed and goal oriented

• Planning and time maximization

• Detail orientated

• Computer literate in Microsoft Office functions

• High level of personal accountability
