The Head of Creative at Pattern leads the in-house partner creative services team, delivering high-quality design, photo, video, and visual assets to internal brand partners. This senior role ensures all multimedia content aligns with Pattern’s Partner brand standards and business objectives while driving efficient, scalable creative production processes.
What is a day in the life of a Head of Creative?
Lead and manage a large team on end-to-end production of design, photo shoots, video shoots, motion graphics, creative project managers, copywriters, and supporting design work for partner brand stakeholders.
Direct the team toward the attainment of departmental goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Monitor creative conversion rates and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI).
Partners closely with partner brands, brand managers, advertising, and other internal clients to understand their creative needs, translate briefs into clear deliverables, and set realistic timelines.
Develop and enforce brand guidelines, style guides, and asset libraries to maintain visual consistency across all departments and channels for each partner brand.
Establish and refine creative workflows, including intake processes, project tracking, version control, and distribution, to maximize team efficiency and on-time delivery.
Oversee budget planning, vendor selection, equipment procurement, and resource allocation to optimize cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
Mentor, hire, and retain a multidisciplinary team of photographers, videographers, editors, graphic designers, copywriters, creative project managers, and motion artists, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in multimedia production to continuously elevate Pattern’s creative capabilities for brands.
What will I need to thrive in this role?
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Film/Photography, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in design, photo and video production, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Proven expertise in all phases of multimedia production: pre-production planning, on-set directing, lighting, shooting, editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects), and post-production.
Strong project management skills and familiarity with creative collaboration tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Frame.io, Smartsheet).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building effective partnerships with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
