Job Title: Senior IT Systems Engineer – Secure Environments

About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned IT Systems Admin / Engineer with expertise in Windows-based environments, Active Directory, Networking, Virtualization, Desktop Support, and Cybersecurity. This role supports clients in highly regulated industries such as Federal Government, Financial Services, Utilities & Energy.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, implement, and maintain secure Windows-based infrastructure across client environments.
· Manage and optimize Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and domain trusts.
· Configure and troubleshoot networking components (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs).
· Deploy and manage virtualization platforms.
· Provide support for desktop, server, and network issues for both customers and internal stakeholders
· Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls, including endpoint protection, SIEM, and vulnerability management.
· Collaborate with and support the Compliance Officer in preparation for and administration of both customer-led compliance audits and internal audit activity.
· Document system configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
· Experienced in M365 / O365 Administration
· Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
· 7 - 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles supporting secure environments.
· Deep knowledge of Active Directory architecture and troubleshooting.
· Extensive experience in network design, configuration, and diagnostics.
· Proven expertise in virtualization technologies and resource optimization.
· Strong background in desktop and server support in enterprise settings.
· Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat mitigation.
· Experience working in or supporting regulated industries (Federal, Financial, Utilities).
· Excellent documentation and communication skills.
· Must be able to pass a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
· Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, Network+, CCNA, VMware VCP.
· Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST, Zero Trust, CMMC
· Active Security Clearance preferred
· Experience with Active Directory, Hyper-V, Citrix, Trend Micro, SIEM
