A wonderful family in East Mesa (Queen Creek area) is looking for a nurturing and reliable caregiver to support their toddler and newborn on an as-needed basis. Care is primarily needed while a work-from-home father is working and a mother is caring for the newborn—this is a perfect role for someone who enjoys being an extra set of hands in a warm, family-centered home.
Schedule: As needed — for gaps in care and date nights. No guaranteed weekly hours.
Start Date: Wednesday, October 1st
- Immediate Need: Care is needed on the following dates: October 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, & 7th
- 8 hours per day
- Start and end times are flexible (parent typically work 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Ongoing/Future Schedule: As-needed backup care and date nights
- Occasional weekdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM
- Occasional weekends for date nights
- 4–8 hours per visit
- Flexible scheduling based on family’s needs
Rate: $25/hour
2 Children: Primary care of their 2 year old son and helping with newborn as needed
- Toddler: potty trained (with help/reminders)
- Newborn: mother is primary caregiver but needs support at times throughout the day
Responsibilities
- Engage toddler with age-appropriate activities and outdoor play (family has a pool)
- Follow established nap schedule
- Prepare and serve meals/snacks for toddler
- Light housekeeping related to the children (tidying play areas, dishes, child-related laundry)
- Provide occasional newborn care while mom interacts with toddler or needs to handle other tasks
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience with toddlers and/or newborns
- CPR certified or willing to become certified
- Able to pass background and social media check
- Can provide references from at least 2 paid care-related positions
- Comfortable working in a home with large dogs (no pet care required)
- Comfortable as an extra set of hands while parents are home
- Open to flexible scheduling and adjustments as the family’s needs evolve
Compensation + Benefits
They are also looking for ongoing, occasional backup care and date night coverage (typically 4–8 hours per visit, as needed). There are no guaranteed hours after October 7th.
