JOB SUMMARY:

The Food & Beverage Department is a fun and exciting way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family.  This department is an upbeat and fast paced environment that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains.  Enjoy working in the Food & Beverage environment then the perks of your complimentary Monarch Mountain Season Pass.  Food & Beverage Server/Bartender should have a positive attitude, enjoy working in all food venues on Mountain (primarily Sidewinder), and strive for providing timely courteous service to our guests. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Food & Beverage Server/Bartender responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work as a team with other members of the Food & Beverage department. 
  • Ensure all food and drink items are served consistently and as the guest ordered.
  • Check I.D.s and follow all procedures relating to the responsible service of alcohol.
  • Observe and practice all health and sanitation rules and regulation regarding food handling and safety procedures.
  • Practice all cash, credit card handling, and register procedures as proscribed.
  • Keep all storage areas appropriately stocked, organized, and clean. 
  • Keep work and dining areas neat and clean including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, bussing tables, and taking out trash.
  • Communicate with Monarch Ski Area guests in a polite and professional manner as well as processing their food orders quickly and courteously.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to maintain a good attitude and work well with guests and other employees.
  • You should feel comfortable working around large groups of people in a congested area.
  • Positive attitude and great customer service skills.
  • Ability to take direction and follow procedures.
  • Must always present a professional appearance.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Must be able to work as an individual and as a team.
  • Is flexible with hours and days of work. Can work any hours during the business day including mornings, evenings or split shifts, and any days of the week (including weekends and holidays)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Age: 21
  • Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, college degree preferred.
  • Ability to push, lift, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • TIPS certification and some previous food service experience preferred. 
  • Prior server/bartending experience preferred. 
  • Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.


JOB TYPE: Winter Seasonal, Full and Part Time


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Compensation: Begins at $11.79 per hour, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience/length of service
