Summary | Objective

The Facility Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the facility. This role involves routine cleaning tasks, safety and compliance checks, and inventory management, to maintain an efficient and safe work environment.


Key Accountabilities | RESULTS EXPECTED TO ACHIEVE

  • Ensure the facility is kept clean, organized, and well-maintained, including common areas, production areas, and outdoor spaces.
  • Uphold safety standards and compliance by maintaining safety equipment, supporting safety audits, and managing cleaning chemical inventory and documentation.
  • Efficiently manage janitorial and maintenance supplies, conduct regular inspections, and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the facility operates smoothly

Key Responsibilities | TASKS YOU DO TO ACHIEVE THE ACCOUNTABILTIES 


General Facility Cleaning:

  • Basic equipment cleaning and maintenance
  • Light bulb replacements
  • Minor painting and touch-ups
  • Window and mirror cleaning 
  • Floor maintenance (waxing, buffing, deep cleaning)
  • Restroom cleaning and stocking 
  • Common area and office cleaning 
  • Manufacturing area cleaning
  • Garbage removal and disposal 

Safety & Compliance:

  • Support MSDS/SDS documentation for cleaning supplies
  • Checking and maintaining eyewash stations
  • Maintaining spill response kits
  • Maintaining safety signage (cleaning, replacing, updating)

Organization & Inventory:

  • Maintaining janitorial supply inventory
  • Organizing storage areas
  • Managing supply rooms
  • Maintaining cleaning equipment

Outdoor Maintenance:

  • Basic landscaping maintenance
  • Sidewalk maintenance (sweeping, snow removal)
  • External waste management

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Conducting regular facility inspections
  • Identifying potential maintenance issues
  • Scheduling routine maintenance tasks
  • Maintaining maintenance logs

Requirements


Qualities for Success

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be a Citizen of the United States of America or have a current Green Card
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask

  • Ability to operate a forklift throughout workday

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. on occasion 
  • Ability to use hand tools requiring using fine dexterity and precision 
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and bending for 8 hours as the position requires
  • Ability to withstand occasional odors

Work Environment

This position location is on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to chemical or electrical shock risk.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and noise levels that are typically moderate.
