Key Responsibilities
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and driven Senior Instructors to join the team at Stubbers Adventure Centre with a focus on the following key areas:
- Lead and deliver high-quality outdoor adventure activities in line with Stubbers’ standards and operating procedures.
- Act as a role model for junior instructors in professionalism, communication, and instruction style.
- Inspire and support young people and adults through engaging experiences.
- Assist in the induction and ongoing training of instructors .
- Mentor junior staff and inspire and support their development.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and support to junior staff on session delivery and professionalism.
- Support training sessions and workshops.
- Assist the Head of Department and Chief Instructor with ongoing staff development, including training and observational support.
- Contribute to a fun, safe, and inclusive environment
- Conduct peer observations and session assessments to support continuous improvement.
- Uphold and enforce safety procedures, safeguarding protocols, and risk assessments.
- Report any incidents or concerns in accordance with centre policies.
- Act as a point of contact for the instructing team during daily operations.
- Support the coordination of daily briefings and session logistics.
- Assist with supervision of junior instructors during shifts.
- overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth delivery across all departments.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Proven experience in delivering outdoor adventure activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in leading groups of all ages and abilities.
- A proactive and professional attitude.
- Understanding of health and safety practices in an outdoor setting.
- First Aid, power boat level 2 and in-house ropes experience.
- Paddle sport instructor or above, PWPC license and ERCA qualifications.
- Previous experience mentoring or training staff.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and incident reporting procedures.
- Driving licence.
