Description
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Paint Business Director oversees all aspects of the paint business, including operations, sales, and financial performance. This position plays a critical leadership role in developing and implementing business strategy to drive best in class product quality and profitability.
Duties further include managing staff development and performance, facility, work and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in marine paint and refinishing.
- Business Operations: Overseeing daily operations, including site level foreman oversight, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement strategies to increase demand and profitability through new and existing customers.
- Financial Management: Managing budgets, forecasting revenue, and ensuring profitability.
- Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Staff Management: Hiring, training, and supervising staff, including painters, technicians, and other personnel.
- Quality Control: Ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Managing paint and related supplies, ensuring efficient inventory turns and minimizing waste.
- Facility Management: Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including paint booths and mixing rooms.
Requirements
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of auto refinishing techniques, materials, and equipment.
Business Management: Must have proven experience developing and implementing business plans that convert to profitable growth , implementing strategic plans and managing financial performance.
Team Management: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of employees with a multisite environment.
Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify and resolve operational, technical, and customer-related issues.
Business Development: Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies and promoting the business.
Additional Considerations:
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry trends, competitor activities, and relevant regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to safety regulations.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with shop management software, accounting tools, and other relevant technologies.
Must be able to travel based on business needs - will look at qualified candidates not the RI area.
