Job Title | Material Planner
Hours | Monday-Thursday 0700 - 1630 and Friday 0700 -1330
Key Responsibilities
- Generate BoMs from Engineering drawings ensuring correct drawing revisions are used.
- Verify the developed BoMs with data from the Production Planning team to ensure accuracy.
- Liaise with Procurement to effectively manage delivery dates for all pipe and welded fittings for both Production and outsourced work packages. Highlight and resolve shortage issues.
- Liaise with Logistics Dept in requesting and tracking transport for outsourced product.
- Generate picking lists based on your generated BoMs (material kits) and liaise with Scarva Stores to ensure availability of stock material and kits for call-off.
- Order material for additional drawings/rework/damaged materials, and track delivery date/ shortages in co-operation with Procurement Dept.
- Provide Daily & Weekly KPI information (details defined for each site) in support of Site Supervisors/Managers.
- Attend and actively engage with team members at daily Fabrication & Assembly Meeting.
- Update process progress on Fieldview application on a daily basis in conjunction with Site Supervisor.
- Proactively engage with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Co-ordinate welded fittings and pipe, including organising transport to internal sites and external sub-contractors
- Co-ordinate transfer of welded pipe to AH paint site (including transport) in conjunction with the Site Supervisor/Manager and update despatch on Fieldview.
- Any other duties deemed reasonable by management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production planning environment.
- Ability to read Engineering drawings is essential to succeed in this role.
- Intermediate MS Excel skills essential.
- Strong data analysis, planning, and delivery experience.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Proven influencing, problem-solving, and team-working skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build networks across functions and organisations (internal and external).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) principles.
- Excellent attendance and time-keeping record.
- Experience on Material Planning in a Fabrication facility.
- Experience of reading Engineering drawings for pipe fabrication.
