One of North America’s most successful manufacturers of office furniture, filing, storage, and organizational products for personal and commercial use, is seeking an MRO Inventory Specialist to add to its team in the company’s Dover, DE location.

This position is at the heart of all support operations for the plant.  For the right person, this position is a stepping stone for future growth.    Applicants must have an interest in technical details and be self-driven to complete all projects.  They must be motivated to preserve the general well-being of the company.   Eligible candidates may be evaluated on written and verbal communication at the time of the interview, as well as computer proficiency and math skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and back up the MRO Manager responsible for roughly $2 million annual budget compliance and facility inspections responsibilities.
  • Stand in for the base functions of the MRO manager for vacation and other coverage.
  • Assist in leadership of facility maintenance and custodial staff.
  • Assist in facility workflow planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Primary Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, overtime can be periodically mandated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possesses a current, valid driver's license and personal vehicle which would be used to pick up parts or for emergencies - must turn in a mileage report for reimbursement
  • Current forklift license or the ability to obtain license
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including formula manipulation within spreadsheets
  • Good written communication skills and email etiquette using Microsoft Outlook
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be flexible and able to work with different crews/departments and able to take of new assignments
  • Able to quickly learn Microsoft Access and SAP
  • Formal customer service training preferred
  • Prior knowledge of buying/purchasing preferred
  • Crane license preferred
  • Accounting background preferred
  • Able to redirect priorities while driving completion on the initial goal
  • Lean training preferred - including knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as 5-S, visual area management, value-stream mapping, etc.
  • Able to work and lead others with minimal guidance
  • Able to present ideas to the team and obtain consensus
  • Prior basic knowledge of industrial  components or the ability to quickly grasp
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with vendors and interdepartmentally by utilizing different practical oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to research online using keyword searches
  • Able to interpret technical specifications and data
  • Basic understanding of chemical safety and storage
  • Formal OSHA training preferred
  • Directly supports industrial maintenance operations as a key team member
