Veneer Tech's Mechanical Engineer position is responsible for supporting our manufacturing operations through the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems, processes, and production equipment (knowledge of European design a PLUS!). This role involves collaborating closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Design and implement mechanical systems and tooling to improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and quality.

· Provide engineering support for the installation, programming, maintenance, and optimization of production equipment.

· Read, develop and maintain detailed mechanical drawings, process documentation, and work instructions including machinery   

   SOPs.

· Lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for mechanical failures or production issues.

· Ensure mechanical designs and systems comply with safety and regulatory standards.

· Assist with the development of preventive maintenance schedules and training for maintenance personnel.

· Evaluate and select materials, components, and suppliers for manufacturing needs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing machinery repair such as troubleshooting, machining, welding, forming, and assembly.
  • Ability to weld using MIG and/or TIG techniques.
  • Experience working with various voltage types (3phase, 480v, etc)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in manufacturing settings.
  • Knowledge of European schematics and/or experience working with Siemens, Cooper, Festo HIGHLY PREFERRED 


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
