Role Overview:

We are looking for a Product Owner to support product development across a suite of Archer’s risk and compliance solutions, including ESG, Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Audit, Document Governance and AI Governance. Solution areas may change and evolve over time.
In this role, you will work closely with Product Leads to translate strategic direction into clear, actionable work for development teams. You will own backlog management, write and refine user stories, and help ensure timely, high-quality product releases and enhancements. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to deliver solutions that are valuable, usable, and aligned with product strategy.

This position reports to the Director of Product, with a dotted-line working relationship to the respective Product Leads within the Archer Product Organization. The role is remote and best suited for a self-starter who can work effectively across global teams and time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backlog Ownership: Manage and maintain the product backlog in Jira, ensuring it is clearly structured, properly categorized, and continuously prioritized based on product goals, stakeholder input, and evolving business needs.
  • User Story Development: Translate product requirements into clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. Ensure stories are well understood by the development team and ready for implementation.
  • Sprint Engagement: Actively participate in sprint ceremonies by providing clear priorities, answering questions, and ensuring development work aligns with product goals. Review deliverables to confirm they meet requirements and are ready for release.
  • Client Feedback Management: Assess incoming requests and tickets from Customer Success and Sales teams, collaborate with the Product Lead to align them with roadmap priorities, and translate the highest-value items into backlog entries for development.
  • Release Preparedness: Own feature acceptance by validating functionality against agreed criteria to ensure high quality. Review completed work against the Definition of Done to confirm readiness and support release sign-off. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product enablement and ensure smooth launch readiness.
  • Product Lead Support: Continuously collaborate with and assist Product Leads in:
    • Managing solution workflows and boards in ProductBoard,
    • Preparing materials for product briefing events for clients, analysts, and partners,
    • Creating and reviewing product documentation and telemetry data.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role, supporting SaaS product delivery.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, with experience managing backlogs in Jira. Familiarity with ProductBoard is a plus.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to navigate across business and technical teams, and clear writing skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple engineering squads or working in a cross-functional, multi-team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to governance, risk and compliance (GRC), risk, audit or regulatory software.
  • CSPO, PMI-ACP or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Experience working with distributed, remote-first teams.

Other Duties:

  • Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice at management discretion based on business need.
