🍽️ Sous Chef – $23.30/hr+ | Sandy Cove Ministries | Maryland, USA
Location: Maryland, near the Chesapeake Bay
Starting Pay: $23.30/hour (with potential increase based on performance)
Position Type: Full-time | Non-Exempt
Reports To: Executive Chef
🧑🍳 Position Overview:
Sandy Cove Ministries is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to help lead the kitchen team, ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation, and contribute to an outstanding dining experience for guests.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and train kitchen staff
Plan and prepare weekly and special event menus
Order food and supplies on a weekly basis
Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality
Cook meals and accommodate special dietary requests
Oversee dining room service
Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
Participate in scheduling, inventory, and day-to-day operations
✅ Requirements:
2+ years of experience in food service leadership
Culinary certificate or equivalent kitchen experience
SERV Safe or similar food handling certification
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work efficiently, independently, and under pressure
Basic technology and organizational skills
