Position: Staff Accountant

Department: Accounting

Role Overview: The Staff Accountant is an essential member of our accounting team, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for supporting a variety of financial operations, including AP approvals, journal entries, 990 filings, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), at least one year of hands-on accounting experience, and a strong desire to learn and develop their skills.

What you’ll get to do here:

  • Review vendor onboarding documentation and review AP bills and other financial transactions in NetSuite

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analyses as part of the month-end and year-end close process

  • Prepare journal entries

  • Assist in the preparation of Forms 990 and 990-T

  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts

  • Support year-end audit activities

  • Complete month-end close tasks, including accruals, prepaids, and adjusting entries

  • Assist senior accountants across all financial operations

  • Respond to special projects and ad-hoc requests from the Assistant Controller

You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred)

  • At least one year of accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Proficiency in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, PivotTables)

  • Experience with NetSuite (preferred, but not required)
