Overall Purpose:  Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:   

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will plan, prioritize and execute on strategies to grow sales through distribution channels and key accounts within your territory, meeting annual business goals.

Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:  Your Accountabilities in the Role 

  1. Grows Revenue:        100% of the Job 

  2. Plans, prioritizes, and executes on strategies for sales growth with dealers and key accounts (processing companies/farmers), within the territory, ensuring organizational KPI’s and annual sales/profit goals are attained.

  3. Manages the distribution channel and sales growth through market analysis, recruitment, influencing, and growing dealers, as well as identifying and executing on opportunities for change in these areas to ensure sales/profit goals are achieved.

  4. Works with new accounts to influence the approval of Chore-Time products and coordinates purchases through the distribution channel.

  5. Maintains ongoing relationships, as a true business partner with Key Accounts, to build trust and develop long term relationships that ensure retention and growth of accounts.

  6. Attends trade shows, dinners, meetings, etc. to represent Chore-Time and to develop relationships and buying opportunities with distributors, key accounts, and other buyers.

  7. Collaborates and communicates with operations and corporate team members to provide ongoing feedback on market trends and new product opportunities. 

  8. Performs ongoing training with dealers to continuously develop their knowledge of products and product application, quoting and pricing tools, marketing programs, sales strategies, training systems and online tools available. 

  9. Maintains and updates dealer data to perform an analysis of sales performance and marketing actions to identify trends and implement corrective actions for key areas that will enhance the brand and service promise.

  10. Collaborates and communicates with the Finance team to assist in collections of dealer account payables, utilizing knowledge and experience with individual dealers/accounts to ensure optimal collection strategies, actions and results are achieved.

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business preferred, or the equivalent in education and experience.

  2. Experience: 3+ years of Territory Sales Management experience working in a dealer or distribution channel environment, preferably in the Agricultural industry or similar field.

  3. Certification(s): N/A

  4. Functional Skills: Solid consultative selling process in calling on distributors, which includes a process to qualify prospects, perform a needs analysis, assists in building competitive quotes for end users, and closing the sale. Ability to successfully analyze a complex market and plan/prioritize activities to drive sales. Ability to plan, prioritize and execute on several priorities and customers at one time is essential.
  5. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Strong PC and MS Office skills, with an ability to use CRM systems; solid technical or mechanical aptitude required to understand and learn the equipment and related processes.

  6. Language Skills:  Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to train and present to small and large groups.

  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Goal oriented, highly relational, collaborative, and ability to influence others. Must also be well organized, self-driven, and excellent with time-management, as well as the ability to be flexible and create changes where needed to drive the business.

Equipment Used:

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, electronic devices, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:

• Ability to sit and operate a motor vehicle for 7+ hours per day
• Ability to use hands and fingers to operate keyboard and reach and handle objects throughout the day
• Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow frequently
• Ability to read and respond on an on-going basis daily due to nature of the work
• Ability to talk and communicate with others via phone, in-person, and computer on-going 
• Ability to listen to customers, problem-solve, and respond accordingly on-going
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, twist, push, pull, and carry items frequently
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. sporadically

Environmental Conditions & Travel:

  • The employee is primarily exposed to a normal office environment with moderate noise. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting client locations.

  • This position may face inclement weather conditions when traveling and be exposed to machinery, moving parts, or fumes. 

  • Travel:  Frequent; approximately 50% overnight travel
