Job Summary: Responsible for assisting with Workers’ Compensation and General Liability claims as well as OSHA data input.  Will also assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.

Reports to: Risk Manager

 Responsibilities:

  • Directs store managers on proper procedures for processing and submission of workers’ compensation, general liability, and BasKart claims.
  • Directs initial medical care on workers’ compensation claims.
  • Downloads and organizes large quantities of video on general liability claims for submission to attorneys and to prevent spoilation on legal files.
  • Receives Employee Reports of Accident from stores and gathers information for submission to workers’ compensation carrier for further handling.
  • Receives Customer Claim Information sheet from stores and gathers information to forward to general liability carrier for further handling.
  • Receives BasKart and Product claim forms from stores and obtains additional information for handling in-house or forwarding to third party for further handling.
  • Assists in gathering and organizing information for both property and third-party property incidents.
  • Will log all claims into respective spreadsheets for tracking and report building.
  • Input all workers’ compensation claims into OSHA reporting program.  Monitor and update for OSHA recordable status. Will produce annual OSHA 300 reports and forward to stores.
  • Produce various weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, as well as miscellaneous reports when requested.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining manager contacts for Refrigeration Monitoring System.
  • Assist Accounts Payable Manager by scanning and sharing to accounting folder incoming certificates of insurance to comply with merchandising requirements for ReposiTrak system.
  • Other duties as assigned.


 Minimum Qualifications:            

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and follow-up
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with workers’ compensation or general liability claims.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and ability to interact with all levels of store management
  • Flexibility in approaching work functions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates experience in prioritizing changing workload
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
