Designer/Fabricator/Exhibit Specialist 

 

FITT Scientific has a requirement to provide TSC Warehouse and Training support to the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS), providing training support services to tenants and units of the Fort Benning region.  This support includes the TSC warehouse operations associated with the receipt, storage, accountability, short-term loan, long-term loan, issue, transfer, turn-in, packaging, shipment, serviceability checks, repair, preventative maintenance, Training Support-Materiel Army-wide Tracking System (TS-MATS) and Army accountability document preparation, historical digital and/or hardcopy record keeping of all standard and non-standard Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) equipment and Graphics Training Aids (GTAs) associated with the mission support functions.

Successful candidates will conduct the following tasks:

  • provide consultation, design, fabrication, packaging, and distribution of Army-wide Simile/Mock-up training aid devices (TADS).
  • procure, manage, and store raw materials: wood, metal, plastics, textiles, paint, electronic components/parts and maintain hazardous logs.
  • maintain molds, forms, jigs, and other manufacturing/fabrication durable items.
  • process ATSC fabricated training orders through TS-MATS and fabricate approved simile/mock-up training aid devices (TADS). Facilitate development of a Training Device Fabrication Request (TDFR) with the requesting entity (ATSC, TSC, or Proponent).
  • coordinate consultation for each requirement, in terms of time, materials, costs, and design of simile/mock-up training aid devices (TADS).
  • develop plans (blueprint, schematic, step-by-step instruction, and/or model/mold) and parts list to meet the product specifications.
  • produce prototype IAW customer’s request, and coordinate with customer (ATSC or Proponent) for validation. Upon validation, fabricate the requisite number of training aid/devices.
  • package final product(s) in appropriate container/packaging (e.g., crate, cardboard box, bubble-wrapped, etc.) for shipment IAW distribution plan. Complete the shipping document (DD 1149), and ship to customer/end user(s). Contact customer to ensure delivery, and that contents have arrived without damage.
  • provide the customer with printed safety, use, PMCS, life cycle, and/or other pertinent information for devices fabricated.
  • maintain records associated with fabrications, to include: plans, work completed, materials used, shipments, etc.
  • design and complete artwork, products, and locally fabricated devices in accordance with Government-furnished layouts, sketches, illustrations, rough drafts, files, photographs, technical manual pages, other VI materials.
  • maintain blueprints, fabrication drawings, files and specifications of all locally fabricated devices as permanent records.
  • design and build all masters, molds, and prototype models comparable to the standard quality samples.
  • Ensure customer requests work through TS-MATS for Simile/Mockup training aid devices (TADS) to be manufactured. Facilitate development of a Training Device Fabrication Request (TDFR).
  • Coordinate/offer consultation with Users for each requirement, in terms of time, materials, costs, and design of Simile/Mockup training aid devices (TADS).
  • Develop plans (blueprint, file, schematic, step-by-step instruction, and/or model/mold) and parts list to meet the product specifications.
  • Produce prototype IAW customer’s request, and coordinate with Units for validation. Upon validation, fabricate the requisite number of Simile/Mockup training aid devices (TADS).
  • Package final product(s) in appropriate container/packaging (e.g. crate, cardboard box, bubble-wrapped, etc.) for shipment IAW distribution plan. Complete the shipping document (DD 1149), and ship to customer/end user(s)

 

 Basic requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to obtain a CAC and maintain CAC eligibility
  • 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and background checks related to the position
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • be able to perform duties regarding moderate assisted lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs.), long periods of standing, sitting, or walking, and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion.
