POSITION REPORTS TO: Sports Coordinator/Pool Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None.
BLS COMPARABLE: 39-9032 Recreation Workers
LEADERSHIP: Provides leadership to program participants and co-workers by exhibiting appropriate workplace conduct and work ethic; and through positive encouragement of others.
- Must be 18 years of age.

- As a position directly affecting the safety of others, the employee will be required to comply with all provisions of City of Enid’s substance abuse policy, including random drug and alcohol testing.
- Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
POSITION PURPOSE: Use scheduling software to support active use of facilities and enhance access to sports programming.
- Provide scheduling support to the Sports Coordinator/Pool Manager in organizing pool/swim events and recreational programming.
- Use recreational scheduling software to book pavilion reservations in the parks; schedule ball field reservations, and reserve facilities for recreational activities.
- Provide updated list of rentals and pre-rental checklist to on-call crew.
- Maintain accurate records of program participation, facility attendance logs; and monitoring and assisting facility rental groups.
- Assist residents with completing reservations over the phone, in person, or online. Assist patrons with payment options; remits refunds when necessary.
- Support the Parks and Recreation Department by answering calls from work crew; checking inventory and delivering supplies, as needed.
- Assist other personnel in using and understanding the scheduling software.
- Understand and obey traffic regulations, as it may be necessary to drive city owned vehicle to various locations to transport supplies.
- Assist event coordinator during pool and/or park activities. Contact vendors and coordinate details for city planned pool or sporting events.
- Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
- The Parks and Recreation events run smoothly and efficiently.
- Procedures and processes are well maintained, documented, and recorded.
- Policies and procedures in City of Enid personnel and safety manuals are understood and followed.
- Effective working relations exist with City personnel. Management is appropriately informed.
- The City’s professional reputation is maintained.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
- Hazmat & Bloodborne Pathogens Training (within 6 months).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Computer: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to use discretion and good judgment in emergency situations.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Accurate and attentive to detail.
- Good communications and public relations abilities.
- Ability to assist and support others.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
VISUAL ABILITIES:
Normal vision, with or without corrective lenses.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
PDC Level: Medium Employee lifts/carries 25 lbs occasionally (less than 33% of the time or 1-100 times per day); exerts push/pull force of 25 lbs. Occasional squatting; kneeling; and prolonged standing/walking may be required. Employee must be able to demonstrate certain recreational activities, such as stretching, twisting, reaching, running, jumping and kicking.
LANGUAGE/COMPREHENSION: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with parents and program participants.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:
Regular - 8 hour sift, typically 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday - Friday, but may be varied to accommodate youth sports schedule.
Variable lunch period and breaks in coordination with other personnel.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Frequent exposure to outdoor weather
NOISE LEVEL:
Moderate to loud noises; including cheering and shouting,
OTHER WORK CONDITIONS:
Potential exposure to communicable disease.
3-5 years experience.

ADVANCED:
6+ years experience.
Proficient computer skills.
Associate’s Degree or equivalent in related field.
