As the Field Lead Operator, you’ll report to the Production Foreman and serve as a key front-line leader, overseeing safe and efficient day-to-day operations. You’ll also play a vital role in mentoring team members, driving production performance, and fostering a culture of doing it right, with fun and integrity.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to work across functions – Safety, Integrity, Environmental and various Engineering disciplines – and be a catalyst for continuous improvement.
- Job location: Wembley area, Alberta
- The successful applicant will be expected to live in the Grande Prairie area
- Shift schedule: 8 x 6, 10 hours per shift

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide daily mentorship to team members with a focus on operational, safety, technical, and environmental excellence
- Deliver hands-on competency SOCT training to build field-level expertise
- Assist with monitoring production volumes, working closely with a cross-functional team to maintain runtime performance > 97%
- Utilize continuous improvement techniques and processes to support the area’s safety, production, financial and environmental targets
- Monitor compressor, facility, battery, and plant throughput relative to capability and initiate actions to optimize, correct deficiencies, and resolve operational problems
- Oversee local project scheduling and execution as directed by leadership
- Spend ~80% of your time in the field with the remainder in the office
What You Bring to the Role:
- 10+ years of Oil and Gas industry experience
- High school diploma/GED required
- GPO (Gas Plant Operator A-D) and/or PFO (Production Field Operations A-D) or a Journeyperson Certificate or a Technology diploma
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven safety track record with consecutive years of strong performance
- Familiarity with and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and training & teaching best practices
- Power Engineering certification and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification will be considered an asset
