Job Purpose:  

Responsible for planning and managing employees and activities including development, maintenance, and enhancement projects utilizing various computing technologies. Collaborates with company customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify customer requirements, assess impacts to other data and systems, consider available technologies, compare costs and benefits, and recommend solutions. Ensures on time product delivery and within budget, which requires a clear understanding (and management) of expectations and capabilities from the outset, as well as managing the activities of cross-functional teams. Expected focus on personal leadership, development of the team, ensure compliance to proper processes. As development is a key area in the organization, the lead must be able to oversee critical issues and must take decisions in time and in coordination with management.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Business Project Managers and other leads to ensure consistent and integrated execution of programs and interfaces
  • Contribute to staffing and re-staffing (replacement) as well as contribute to management, motivation and development of team members
  • Collaborate with PMO on detailed project plans and other development life cycle documentation, follows approval process at each project phase, and adjusts project plans as required.
  • Collaborate with various other support teams including Infrastructure, Software asset management, Security
  • Track and report team progress against plans
  • Escalate deviations from plans and other issues management
  • Drive team to implement on time, on budget, with defined tools and methodologies
  • Manage scope
  • Development documentation
  • Provide guidance to developers and external partners regarding:
    • Method of working / Methodology
    • General team strategies and approaches
    • Team procedures (e.g. testing)
  • Align team strategies, approaches and procedures with various teams
  • Manage and pro-actively drive all stream related activities that require hardware and software from external product vendors and external resource providers (SOW/implementations)
  • Participate in the selection process of external vendors
  • Pro-actively manage external vendors
  • Monitor and evaluate functionality offered with new software releases
  • Ensure system design supports and are aligned with business processes and priorities
  • Pro-actively manage the detailed design and test of the system solutions
  • Coordinate and pro-actively manage all development activities
  • Own functional/technical specifications and testing methodology guidelines
  • Take ownership for assigned applications, including security, stability, performance, resiliency, documentation and lifecycle management.

Knowledge, Skill & Responsibilities

  • Creates a team environment and administers HR policies and practices such as periodic performance feedback sessions per the TouchPoint cadence, succession planning, individual feedback sessions, and group communication sessions.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Degree in computer science or similar discipline
  • Strong people management skills, ideally recent team leading experience
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently enlist assistance to solve problems in a timely manner
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to manage and integrate multi-cultural and multi-skilled team of internal and external resources in a time critical and pressurized environment
  • Structured thinking and detail orientation
  • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Knowledge of distribution processes and industry best practices
  • Ability to handle multi-inputs and reach decisions
