Job Summary: The Practice Management Systems Support Specialist supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of veterinary practice management software platforms across multiple locations. This position collaborates with hospital teams, vendors, and internal departments to facilitate smooth system conversions, resolve technical issues, and promote efficient, consistent workflows. The role includes second-tier support responsibilities, contributing to data integrity, training initiatives, and ongoing process improvements that support hospital operations and client service excellence.
Travel required: Intermittent, less than 10%
Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Provide advanced support for practice management systems in collaboration with vendor support teams and internal Information Technology team.
- Coordinate system updates, maintenance, and upgrades across multiple hospitals.
- Develop and maintain training materials and documentation to support system usage and enterprise initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during PIMS conversions and assigned implementation projects.
- Identify and recommend system or process improvements to increase efficiency, standardization, and usability.
- Foster proactive communication across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Evaluate workflows to identify optimization and training opportunities.
- Assess third-party tools for integration compatibility, security, and business value.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Finance, and Data teams on transaction mapping and reporting accuracy.
- Support data preparation activities related to budgeting, year-end reporting, and business reviews.
- Provide configuration, troubleshooting, and coding support to internal departments.
- Participate in governance efforts related to security, compliance, and usage policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the nature and level of work.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the veterinary field.
- Prior experience with veterinary practice management systems required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, OneNote).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and security.
- Ability to manage deadlines and tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in Avimark software, including administrative setup and configuration.
- Familiarity with other veterinary practice management systems.
- Comfort navigating organizational change and helping others through transitions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods of time.
