Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant will support the finance and accounting team with daily accounting functions,

month-end close activities, and accurate financial reporting. This role provides a strong foundation for

growth in construction accounting and offers hands-on experience with job costing, reconciliations, and

reporting.


This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration at our Central Broward County, FL location.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with monthly close by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports

- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are properly recorded

- Support preparation of financial statements and internal reports

- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost entries

- Provide support for audits and compliance requirements

- Work with the operations team to ensure accurate tracking of project costs

- Help identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency

- Perform other accounting tasks as assigned

Requirements

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- 1–3 years of accounting experience (construction or job cost experience a plus)

- Familiarity with GAAP and basic accounting principles

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; Viewpoint or Sage experience a plus

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Self-starter with a willingness to learn and grow
